INSTRUCTIONS :
Task 2: Brainstorming to ideate a solution for the problem statement
For task 2, we are required to brainstorm an idea(s) for our problem statement. We are required to "think outside the box" to identify a new solution to the problem statement we have created in Collaborative Design Practice : Task 1.
RESEARCH
For this module, we are collaborating with IN.Deed Communications on a campaign by GSK. GSK is a global biopharma company with the ambition and purpose to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together. GSK's campaign, #Give back campaign focuses on safe and responsible disposal of old and used inhalers. Through this campaign, #GiveBack provides a solution for patients to responsibly dispose of their inhalers. Our task is to brainstorm an idea to identify a new solution. Based on the idea, we will then build a sculpture that will reflect our message/problem statement.

PROGRESS
Week 1 progress
For week 1, we started by looking at our references to come up with ideas.
Week 1 progress
For week 1, we started by looking at our references to come up with ideas.
Our references consist of different natural elements such as sea and nature. Our idea is to reflect the effects of the inhalers and blister packs are not disposed of properly.

After looking at references, my team members who specialize in Entertainment Design work on the sketching phase while the rest of the team members work on the presentation slides.
FEEDBACK FOR WEEK 1 PROGRESS:
- Split references into 2 parts, water and nature (land).
- Incorporate balloons into the sketches.
NEXT COURSE OF ACTION
- Show more sketches for next class
Week 2 progress
For week 2, we refined some ideas. My team members who specialize in Entertainment Design work on the sketching phase while the rest of the team members work on the presentation slides. Me and my team member, Abigail start working on the project document.
FEEDBACK FOR WEEK 2 PROGRESS:
- The ideas can incorporate both land and sea.
NEXT COURSE OF ACTION
- Refine sketches for next class.
Week 3 progress
For week 3, we had a group discussion on the ideas and sketches. We decided to go with 'Pots and Supplants' as it reflects the message we would like to share and it will be an interesting build. We also voted on the colour palette that we are planning to use. After the discussion, we finalize the project document and recorded our presentation.
NEXT COURSE OF ACTION
- Start working on the prototype (task 3) to estimate the size and material that will be used for task 4.

REFLECTION
Experience
For this task, our group struggled in the beginning when coming up with ideas. We were able to have a discussion which help us to come up with ideas and split the job.
Observations
For this task, we were able to see how different groups approached this task differently. I was able to learn from other groups' ideas. Besides that, I was able to observe how other designers use medical waste to create their creative and interesting designs.
Findings
From this task, during the research phase, I was able to see how other designers use medical waste and different recycled materials differently to create their designs.
