UX Design : Task 2 User Journey Map
INSTRUCTIONS :
Task 2 : User Journey Map
For this task, it is a group task. Our task is to develop a unique service proposition for a personal helper service app that aims to inspire and engage with its niche audience daily in a way that feels credible, authentic, trustable, and convenient. For task 2, we are required to do research to decide the users for our app. My group consist of : - Me - Ng Wai Fern
- Asilah Asif
- Wong Jun Zhe
- Teo Javin
The app we have decided to work on is a service app for pet owner and pet lover. An app that provide services such as dog grooming, dog sitting and getting pet supplies with just a click of a button.
Exercise 1 : User Persona Research
For exercise 1, we are required to do user experience research using selected data gathering methodology (physical/online interview, focus group, questionnaire, etc). The aim is to collect data on our potential app user. In doing so, we must design the questions in User Persona Questionnaire in section A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H by applying the ‘Empathy Map’ as explained in the lecture. The answers gathered must be recorded and compiled.
The research method we have chosen is survey. Below are the list of question we have drafted.
Fig 1.0 : List of questionnaire for survey
After getting feedback from Mr. Hijjaz, we start drafting the question into Google forms. Below are the data we have gotten. A total of 13 responses were received.
Fig 2.0 : Survey responses
After receiving the responses, we are required to analyse and list out the key findings to understand the needs of our target audience.

Exercise 2 : User Requirements
We are required to list out our user experience requirements using various methods mentioned in lecture session. The aim is to understand the specific requirements needed for the app development project. Below are our user requirements.

Exercise 3 : User Journey Diagram
For exercise 3, we are required to list out user experience – user journey diagram using methods learned in lecture session. The aim is to clearly state the user experience journey of the app that you are building. Below are our user journey diagram.

FEEDBACK
Feedback for Exercise 1 : User Persona Research
A. Interest
- Consider adding more questions for the end user (our main target audience)
- Would pet owners be alright if their pets are taken care of by a stranger?
C. Motivations
- Ask about commitment level of taking care of pet
- Till what extent the user is committed to taking care of the pet?
D. Challanges
- Struggles with financial for healthcare - donation feature?
- Other more significant struggles - diet, healthcare?
- Try talking to pet owners to see what challenges they have then create the questions.
- Questions should be broader, have more empathy.
E. Pain Points/Frustrations
- Elaborate by related to the challenges section
H. Tech and Social Media Preference
- Questions are good
- Chat box assistant might not be required - too old fashioned
- AI bot?
- Short one-time tutorial - refer to IG
Feedback for Exercise 2 : User Requirements
• Survey questions are good, proceed to look for respondents asap.
• For the app, work within our time limitations - work on the core functions of our app, other features like pet photo sharing might not be necessary
• Task 2 USPs has to be more specific - convenience in terms of what?
• Last 2 USPs quite unique
• OS version - look at competitors' supported OS requirement
• Front-end framework - go through the 2 links under 'Front-end Frameworks' and choose the best one (consider the OS we will be publishing our app on)
• Research more on technical limitations - look at server limitations
REFLECTION
Experience
From this task, I was able to learn what is needed to consider when creating a service helper app. Understanding potential user perspective help with determine the flow of the app. Besides that, user journey map help us to determine the type of pages we will produce in future task. A detailed user journey map help us consider the features that we would like include into the final prototype later on.
Observations
Based on my observation for this task, I notice that knowing what user needs and wants help determine the type of feature for the app we want to create. To create a service helper app need a lot of consideration in terms of technical and requirements.
Findings
From this task, I was able to learn about the different requirements that are needed to be consider when designing an app such as technical and business requirement. From exercise 2 - UX requirement, I was able to learn the function of different front end framework and operating systems.
