For this module, we are required to organise a final year showcase and work on our digital portfolio.

For digital portfolio, we are required to create a name card, CV (resume), design portfolio and showreel. Here are my work.

Final Year Showcase

Our role as students depends on the team we decide to join. I join the design team. We are in charge of the theme, art direction and overall design materials for the showcase such as branding, art direction, merchandise and print materials.

• For the first week, Mr. Asrizal gave a brief introduction regarding the module and what to expect in this module. Here is an introduction on what our showcase is about!
  
  24. Interlude

• Interlude is the transitional period between 2 sections, symbolizing the event as an interval between our soon-to-be past and future aspirations. Interlude has a musical definition, a piece of music played between other pieces. The "24." in the title refers to the date of the showcase (2024). It also refers to the format of a song in an album.

  The musical and linguistic descriptions all hint toward the concept of the exhibition: being the star of our own future.

Booklet
For booklet design, I design it together with Cecilia. Here is the final draft for the booklet : 24. Interlude Booklet

Logo (New)

The logo was given a new look to signify a new beginning.

The logo typeface is a mix of the font, Raleway and illustrated music note as the concept of the showcase is Interlude. The music notes as it represent break or pause. The letters and notes are tilted to give a playful and fun feel. The letter are 3D to make it stand out as the concept of the showcase it to be your own star!

REFLECTION

Throughout the module, there have been a ton of up and downs especially when organising and executing the design for the showcase but I am glad I was able to experience it as it is a once in a life time opportunity. I am happy to have a helpful and understanding team. Couldn't have done it without them! 

Through this module, I was able to learn and experience organising a showcase. It is my first time organising a physical showcase. There are definitely lots to learn as I do have experience in organising an event but haven't a showcase. Now I can say that I have! Besides that, through this module, I was able to explore different style for both the showcase theme and my digital portfolio. I was able to find out what are my strength and weakness (typography) hence I took this opportunity to work on it when design the booklet, my name card and CV.

Lastly, I learn so much from my team when preparing for the showcase. I am happy and it has been a great experience overall.
